Part Ol' Dirty Worm (ODW), stonefly, and mop fly, Mopzilla is a do-it-all subsurface pattern that combines three of the most productive trout flies into one unapologetically fishy package.

Inspiration comes at funny times. One day when flipping rocks, we spotted a stonefly clinging to a worm and couldn't help but wonder what would happen if we mashed the two together while adding the irresistible movement of some mop material. The result is a mutation that could pass for a stonefly nymph, crane fly larva, annelid cluster, caddis larva or just about any large, calorie-rich meal.

Versatility is key, and unlike many of our trout-focused patterns, Mopzilla is just as effective for warmwater species like carp, bass, and panfish as it is for trout. Fish it whenever you're searching for your next big eat, especially during runoff, high water, or anytime fish are keyed in on larger meals.
