Galloup's Micro Dungeon
Designed by Kelly Galloup, the Micro Dungeon brings the articulated construction of his original Sex Dungeon into a roughly two-inch pattern. A deer hair head, marabou, and rubber legs give it movement and a full profile, while weighted eyes help it sink. It’s a useful option for smaller streams or when fish are following larger streamers without committing.
Fish it around bank-side cover and through pockets with short strips and pauses, giving the articulated body room to change direction. Swing it through a run with occasional twitches, or slow your retrieve to keep it near holding fish longer.
Color selection
Gray: A more subdued baitfish option when white looks too bright. Try it in clear water or when the local forage has a darker back and muted coloring.
Purple: A useful starting point in low light or off-color water, when a dark silhouette can help fish locate the fly. Try it around shaded banks or early and late in the day.
Yellow: A useful change of pace when darker or more natural colors aren’t getting a response. Try it when you want a brighter profile to draw attention around structure.
White: A good choice when you’re imitating pale or silver-sided baitfish. It’s also easy to track in the water, helping you watch the retrieve and spot following fish.
