Shop Saturdays—Cutthroat Anglers

Fly Spotlight - The Green Machine Reading Shop Saturdays—Cutthroat Anglers 2 minutes Next The Yakoda Story

Based in the iconic Colorado mountain town of Silverthorne, Cutthroat Anglers has a long history of supporting the Colorado fly fishing community. The shop was started by a local legend of the fly rod, Trapper Rudd, and first welcomed customers in 1999.

With a dream of being one of the premier shops and guide services in Colorado, the team at Cutthroat Anglers has since been a wealth of knowledge and overall experience for everyone who walks through the door. Now lead by owner / angler Ben McCormick, the shop continues to be a massive asset to the community and is consistently named the “Best Fly Fishing Outfitter” in Summit county—the well-earned result of hosting guided wading and float trips, gear rentals, a beautiful full-service fly shop, and a lifetime of educational assets.

Cutthroat publishes top-notch written pieces on their
blog, and continues to provide a friendly atmosphere and up-to-date knowledge on the best fishing in Colorado. Being in Silverthorne Town Center, the shop is as close to the banks of the Blue River as possible. Decorated with a multi-species 500-gallon fish tank, a ‘shed’ built from historic lumber, and a canoe suspended from the ceiling rafters, the shop itself is a testament to the authenticity of their expertise.
