A weighted version of the Yakoda QB Baetis, designed to get down a little quicker, as the point fly on a light nymph rig, a little extra weight on the bottom of a heavier setup, or as a dropper under a dry fly.
Baetis are small mayflies that live in all water systems and can be found in greater numbers where the water temperatures are consistent—that’s why they particularly like tailwaters. This fly is a close imitation of a natural mayfly nymph. The slim, UV-cured quill body slips and darts just like a real baetis nymph does when it’s looking for a new home. Even though baetis are small, big, hungry trouts still key in on them and you should be prepared when they do.
